Customizing My Home in Moodle

When you first login to moodle, you are automatically directed to a page that is identified as 'My Home'. On this page you will see some basic navigation items, plus your course overview. Your course overview lists the courses that your name is affiliated with.

You can customize the features on this page by clicking on the button labeled 'Customize this page' located in the top right hand area of the screen.

Once you have clicked this button you will be presented with an number of icons and menus on the screen.

One menu you are presented with, is adding a block. Blocks are modules that can add functionality to your page. Your functionality is limited on this page as it is not affiliated with a course.

Some modules that may be of interest on this page are calendar and activities.

When customizing the page, you are also given the option to move things around and arrange the page to you liking.

The green arrow icons on the blocks are the move icons.

Click on the move icon of a block you wish to move. Note that pink dotted line areas appear all over the page. These are the multiple areas you can move the current block to.

Choose an area by clicking on it. The page will refresh with the new layout.
