By default, Moodle displays 14 sections with a sequential numbering system (section 1, section 2, etc.) You may add more sections if required, or you may remove sections you will not be using.
There are two ways to add or remove sections:
You may add or remove sections one at a time with the click of a button.
Turn editing on by clicking on Turn Editing On in the top right corner.
Scroll down to the very last section on your Moodle course page. Click on the plus icon to add a section, or click on the minus icon to remove a section.
If you would like to add or remove a number of sections at one time you may choose this option instead.
1. Go to the Settings Block on the left side of your course and choose Edit Settings.
2. Scroll down and expand the Course Format section. Change the Number of Sections to your desired number.
3. Be sure to Save Changes at the bottom.
